Notes 2/6/08 1. matching- we match behavior with the people we have comm. with. For example: if they yell, we yell. 1a. mirroring- when we match the same way or do the same thing. William james- he found that we act a way that we feel. We have the ability to change the order, feel the way that you act, you fake it. Ex: want to be happy, act happy. You can use this to your advantage. This can change the way we think. 1b. motor-mimicry- we respond in a way that we see happen. Ex: friend hit finger, you feel that to. Or when trying, you tend to cry. 1c. emotional contagion- motor mimicry happens because of this. Tend to be emotional for human beings that are similar. 1d. meshing- two people, emotionally connected, and they change at the same time. Affect displays- comm. emotion or feeling by non verball. Mostly by facial expression. Deception cues/lackage cues- dc- by their hands/feel are doing. Movement. Feet pointed to the door. Lc- form of dc, tell you not any lying but the real true is.
