MODULE 3: LESSON 2 ASSIGNMENT 1. Help Maria understand the structures and functions of the female reproductive system by describing the pathway an ovum (egg) will travel from development in the ovary to expulsion during menstruation or fertilization. Remember to include any supporting structures in your description. Finally, address two physical problems that can prevent the ovum from reaching the uterine end of the Fallopian tube. The following questions should be answered as part of the description of the journey: Where does the egg develop? Where does the egg mature? Where was the egg stored? How does an egg travel through the female reproductive system? Does the egg “pick up lunch?” What processes facilitate locomotion? If the egg can move, what provides the energy for movement? What dangers does the egg face on the journey? What parts of the female reproductive system help to overcome the dangers?

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
