PHY 114 Lab #2 Objective: In this experiment we will be looking into uniform motion. Uniform motion is the motion of an object in which the object travels in a straight line and its velocity should remain constant the whole time it’s observed. Where d is the distance, t is the time and v is the velocity. This experiment is testing that, the velocity should stay the same since there is zero acceleration. Physical Principles & Laws tested and used: In this lab velocity is the principle that is being tested. Velocity is the rate of change in the distance an object travels, in a particular direction, per unit time, such as miles per hour, feet per second, meters per second, or centimeters per second. Explanation: In this experiment we used an air track with air supply and hose, a master and accessory photogate timer, a glider with flag, and a rubber bumper. We first positioned the photogates to be 20 cm apart. We then pulled the glider to exactly 5cm back and released it. We then recorded the number that was on
