1.Holbach’s perspective is that people have no control over their lives and how things come to take place. From the moment we are conceived our lives are one big mystery and nothing in ourlives is by choice. If we begin smoking or doing drugs it is only based on those around us who exposed us to these things in the first place; moreover, as people our thoughts and ideas are completely random in that the subconscious mysteriously creates them. 3.Holbach strongly states that people have a desire to live when describing the necessity for water. As people we choose the lesser of two evils and even though we are thirsty, knowing thatthe water is poisoned keeps us from partaking. If it had not been for the information we would have most certainly drank the poisoned water without considering the possibility of being poisoned but if our thirst is greater than the risk of dying from poisoning we would drink anyways. In the water example people will always choose water if they feel they will die either
