The company’ssuccess is because they have ability and provide high-quality cars. The Toyota model is a setof principles. Defines the business method used by the company.
CASE STUDY-TOYOTAIf Toyota is not the cause of unintended acceleration, why was it blamed for it? In the automotive industry, car recalls are a common appearance. However, Toyota's largerecalls show very different circumstances and involve more serious consequences (Finch, J2010, no.4, pp. 472-496). We have already seen that nearly 9 million Toyota cars in the worldmust be recalled within few months. The recall problem mainly focuses on unintendedacceleration, which is related to the most important issue of driver safety driving. Therefore,it is hard to believe that Toyota's "excellent" cars have no problems. With certain designchanges in vehicle electronics, most accidents occur while the vehicle is traveling. Shiftinggears, separating cruise control, applying brakes, etc., can cause sudden acceleration. Thesecommon conditions cause a distribution in the electrical current that prompts a dangerousmalfunction. (Azuma 2018,n.p.)Another major issue is the cultural difference in the way Japanese and Americanscommunicate. Those Japan’s management, when the company first faces problems, they willtry to settle the problems after they have been notified to the media. But in American style,they like to answer first, first after the action. Therefore, when Toyota being quiet, Americansthought they ignored them and were not professional.Due to the failure of public relations, Toyota was accused of unexpected acceleration. Thereason why Americans began to believe that Toyota tried to take cover something and its lawsbecause the company's public relations response to the problem was very slow (Clegg et al.2011). Before the coming February 5th, the CEO of Toyota did not form any statement on thisclimacteric. Media of American accuse the company of lacking transparency and behaviourin this regard too. (Toyota USA, 2010a)Toyota did not know what to do when it first reported own accelerated complaints.
