Thermo-Fluid Lab Prof. Taha Aldoss 1 Exp. 4: Pipe Flow Project To design and construct an experiment that can be used to demonstrate the following: 1. To enable measurement of the water viscosity, i.e. using the device as viscometer. 2. To enable measurement of the Reynolds number, the Reynolds number where flow is changes from Laminar to Turbulent. 3. To enable measurement of the friction factor function of Reynolds number to be used to verify the (Moody Chart). You need to perform the necessary calculations, using energy and continuity equation to determine the length, diameter, pressure drop necessary to cover the Laminar and turbulent flows in the tube. You should suggest appropriate methods and devices that enable accurate measurements of the pressure drop as well as the flow rate. You should also consider an appropriate method and device that enable controlling the flow rate so you can cover both laminar and turbulent flow in the tube. A capillary tube of known inside diameter placed over a hydraulic pinch is used. The tube can be fed by two ways: (a) in case of laminar flow a constant head tank is used

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
