CHAPTER 01- BACKGROUND STUDY1.1 INTRODUCTIONTransportation system can be defined as the combination of elements andtheir interactions, which produce the demand for travel within a given area and thesupply of transportation services to satisfy this demand. This definition is general andflexible enough to be applied to different contexts. The specific structure of thesystem is defined by the problem itself or class of problems for whose solution it isemployed. It enable people to make their regular journeys from home to work,school, and shop and provides the essential means of access to health care andother welfare services. It makes possible increasingly diverse and discriminatingpattern of social and leisure activity. According to E.Cascetta (2001), transportation system can be defined as theaddition of aspects and their interactions, which fulfil the demand for travel within agiven area and the supply of transportation services to satisfy this demand.Nowadays, people still using public transport to reach their own destination such aswork, vacation and many other places. The examples of public transport are bus andtaxi, aeroplane and train. This research will attention to the facilities for bus stop. Busstop can be defined as, the point at the started and ended of a bus route, where thevehicles stop, reverse and wait, before departing on the return journey. At any busstop that have a same for their public facilities. Every facilities must have a goodconstruction and fulfil the demand of passengers.
