2THE EFFECTS OF STRESS ON ACADEMIC SUCCESSAnyone who has ever been a student in college knows that it is a very stressful experience. The social environment, work environment, people, time management, study skills, and work load is all new to a first-time college student. These common stressors usually stem from the fact that it is a very different environment than anything that has ever been experienced by anyone who has not attended college. Many times, these stressors not only interfere with theirpersonal life, but they also affect the student’s ability to perform well academically. There has been a lot of research on the topics of stress and academic success and how the two correlate with each other. These researchers have come up with multiple ways to eliminate, or at least lessen, the stress that college students face on a daily basis. The first article, “Associations between Depression, Anxiety, Stress, Hopelessness, Subjective Well-Being, Coping Styles, and Suicide in Chinese University Students,” shows the correlation between stress and academic success in a very good, but interesting way.
