Senegal is a country on the coast of west Africa. As I began watching the documentary, several things stuck out to me. Many people were in beautiful traditional clothes and colorful, intricate patterns. The streets were busy with cars and people trying to sell things. There were many markets that sold food and clothes to the local people of Dakar. Dakar is the thriving capital city of Senegal. In other words, Dakar is the heartbeat of Senegal. What you hear in Senegal is a mix of many things. You may hear cars, a mix of languages such as French, Arabic and Wolof. Wolof is a language spoken by the Wolof people in other countries such as Gambia and Mauritania.I learned a variety of things while watching this documentary about Senegal. Thepopulation is 94% Muslim with Christianity (mostly Roman Catholic) coming in at only 5%. Themuslim community comes together to pray at least five times a day. There are so many people
