Treatment: Oral contraception to regulate hormone imbalance, insulin synthesizers ( metformin)common oral drug for diabetes and insulin resistance , medicine for ovulation induction for infertility issues. Hormone therapy, Table 33-4 pg 809 Pelvic Inflammatory Disease Infection that has gone up insde – far Non-speicfic- any organs of upper genital tract Microorganisms that cause PID: STDs chlamydia and gonoherra migrating, anything compromising vaginal flora Anything that introduces infection- previous std, multiple sex partners, having an IUD for birth control, beign sexual active at 25 or younger, use of douches, abortions, deliveries and other infectious procedures Salpingitis Contributes to PID- so does lymphatic drainage AND Inflammation of the fallopian tubes
