EXCELLENCE IN LEADERSHIP 2 PART A: Written or Oral Questions Question One In the organization setup, it is acknowledged that it is practical to establish linkages between the objectives of the organization, its values and standards to the responsibilities of all the relevant groups and individuals during the process of setting the organizational goals. The team leaders, the managers and the team members need to acknowledge and understand the mission values, mission and the objectives of an organization in order to work collaboratively to achieving these goals and objectives, the language and the tone used by the management and the leaders is critical as it should be addressed according to the objectives of the message and the clarity to the relevant groups and individual employees. A leader must be able to establish these links between the organization needs, values, goals and objectives of the organization and the tasks at hand in order to help the employees and the groups understand their role in achievement of these objectives (Bohlander, Snell & Sherman, 2007). More to these, having such kind of alignment is important as it helps the groups and the employees to have more commitment to the organization and they will be motivated to making sure that these goals have been attained. The alignment between the organizational mission, standards, vision and the objectives with the groups and the individual is necessary to make sure these employees see their effort as individuals and as groups help to grow the organization. The employees are also able to see the input of their performance and how this has contributed to the attainment of the goals of the organization. The motivation of the employees is also most likely to be more boosted and enhanced when they reflect how their work contributes to the broader achievement of the organizational objectives (Collins & Clark, 2003). It helps to make a demonstration that the employees are making a difference and this helps in the self-actualization.

This is in the context of all the employees being aware of what is expected of them and how they should act in order to achieve the organizational goals. Moreover, this alignment helps the organization to create a sensible direction that all the groups and the individuals can follow when performing the assigned responsibilities. This implies that all the employees are aware of their expectations with clarity and they are more inspired to work together to achieve them. There are no employees or groups performing different tasks that are not aligned to the tasks specified in the goals and objectives of the organization. Leaders and team managers, through the alignment of the tasks
