ASSESMENT PRACTICES2Part I: Assessment TableMathMath Standard and Grade Level (from Topic 1):A seventh-grade math standardSolve problems involving scale drawings of geometric figures, including computing actual lengthsand areas from a scale drawing and reproducing a scale drawing at a different scale. Learning Objective (from Topic 1): Students will compute lengths and areas of a classroom to create a blueprint of the classroom indicating the scale used. When finished, students will write a "sales pitch" to a person explaining why their blueprint is accurate and should be purchased.Example of formative assessment that aligns with content standard: Observing how easily compute lengths and areas.Collecting Data about the best practice to write a sales pitch and how to explain the accuracy of the blueprint.Pre-assessment questions that assess students’ prior knowledge: Asking student to identify geometric figures and tools to measure lengths and areas.Formative assessment questions that assess students’ progress:oWhat students know and need to know about computation process? In this context, I can observe the students’ input about pre-assessments and measure their ability to solve problems.oI need to track students’ progress in measuring areas and lengths by assessing their performance in classwork and home works and work on their deficiencies.
ASSESMENT PRACTICES3Example of summative assessment that aligns to content standard: Using computer games and software that involves identifying lengths and areas measurements.
