READINESSCOLLABORATIVE LEARNING IS THE STRATEGY THAT WILL BE ADOPTED IN GROUP LEARNING . COLLABORATIVE LEARNING IS A SITUATION IN WHICH TWO OR MORE PEOPLE LEARN OR ATTEMPT TO LEARN SOMETHING TOGETHER” ( SCHOOR, NARCISS, & KÖRNDLE, (2015. P. 98). STUDENTS IN THIS CLASS WILL BE ARRANGED INTO 6 HETEROGENOUS GROUPS BASED ON READING PERFORMANCE LEVEL. INTERESTSTUDENTS’ INTEREST IN THE CONTENT IS DETERMINED BY THEIR MOTIVATION TO PARTICIPATE IN DISCUSSION. SO, IT IS IMPORTANT TO DIFFERENTIAE CONTENT BECAUSE “WHEN TEACHERS PLAN FOR CONTENT, PROCESSING, AND PRODUCT, DIFFERENTIATING BY INTERESTS HELPS REMOVE THE BLINDFOLD SO THAT LEARNERS CAN SEE THOSE INVISIBLE CONCEPTS MADE VISIBLE” (MCCARTHY, 2014. PAR. 2). IN READING LESSON, TEACHER CAN PROVIDE OPTIONS TO CHOOSE CONTENT THAT IS RELATED TO STUDENTS’ INTERESTS. ONE EFFECTIVE STRATEGY TO DETERMINE STUDENTS’ INTEREST LEVEL IS DIFFERENTIATING INSTRUCTION. THIS CAN BE DONE BY EXPOSING STUDENTS TO DIFFERENT LITERARY TOPICS. STUDENTS CAN ALSO TELL STORIES ABOUT THEIR CULTURE. ENGAGING STUDENTS WHO SHOW LOW IN INTERESTS IN READING TOPICS CAN BE PERFORMED BY FINDING CONTENT TOPICS THAT TOUCH STUDENTS’ CULTURAL BACKGROUNDS. STUDENTS THEMSELVES CAN BRING TOPICS TO BE DISCUSSED. FOR EXAMPLE, FATMA , WHOSE LEVEL OF READING IS ONE YEAR BELOW GRADE LEVEL, CAN TELL STORY ABOUT HOW SHE CAME TO THE UNITED STATES.
