Number of Gangs in America Slight decrease into 2003 then a rise in 2004 growing up till now. With a total of 33,000 gangs across the U.S Studies show civilians in neighborhoods over 1,000 have a 14-1 chance of becoming a victim of gang violence.

Life on the streets This is the reality of many neighborhoods. The people that live here risk their lives when walking out of their homes. Some residents aren’t even safe at their home, because of brutal Types of gang crimes committed - homicides, drive-bys, brutal home invasions. These are common for the street gangs in neighborhoods with more than 1,000 people in the area.

Gang Violence in Schools Gang activity is somewhat limited, but still shows up in urban, suburban areas. The students live in fear that members will try and “jump them in” the gang that they represent. Parents are scared that their children will end up dead.
