The Speechwriter’s Challenge
While there might be differences in the way one practices their religion, there are many things we all
regard as true, whether you’re a Jew, a Christian, or a Muslim. We all believe in one God (10), and he is
the same God, we understand that we all can be traced back to the creation of Adam (13-2), our
religious beliefs stem from the prophet Abraham (10-1) , an “end of days” will take place, and
practitioners of all faiths can be found around the world.
In the Hebrew Bible, the end of days is
something called a “Day of the Lord” and when this happens, all evil would vanish and the world as we
know it would end. In the Christian Bible, something similar happens where Jesus returns and God lifts
the worthy up into heaven. (12-5) The Muslim version is a little different, but with the same basic idea,
that the Mahdi will return and this will coincide with the second coming of Jesus, and they together will
battle the “false messiah.” (13-15,16) While for some time these three religious groups were mostly
