STATUTORY CONSTRUCTION (EJUSDEM GENERIS) CASE: REP. OF THE PHILS. V DOMINADOR SANTUA FACTS: Respondent (Santua) filed with the RTC a petition for judicial reconstitution of Trabsfer of Certificate Title. He alleged that he is the registered owner of the said parcels of land and that the original copy of TCT was among those destroyed by the fire that hit the Capitol Building then housing the Officer of the Register of Deeds. The respondent’s duplicate copy was lost, there are no mortgagee’s or lessee’s duplicate of said certificate of title. Respondent complied with the jurisdictional requirements which includes tax declaration, technical description and lot plans and the RTC granted the petition. ISSUE: Whether or not the documents submitted by the respondent are sufficient bases for the reconstitution of lost or destroyed certificates of title HELD: SEC. 3. Transfer certificates of title shall be reconstituted from such of the sources hereunder enumerated as may be available, in the following order:
