Reflection Paper #2 Sociology 493 Lani Martin 02/01/2019 Theoretical Paradigms There are three theoretical paradigms or perspectives within the field of sociology. They are an abstract way to divide the field up and they deal with …” assumptions about the nature of the social world on which each paradigm is based” [ CITATION lis \l 1033 ]. The Functionalist paradigm goes on the assumption that within any one society the consensus has the same values and norms, a society is made up of many parts that contribute to the whole and the society seeks stabilization instead on conflict. The Conflict paradigm has subgroups within it that have different beliefs, values and norms, they believe that society is always in competition for scarce resources and that conflict is normal and harmony is not. The Symbolic Interactionist paradigm focuses more on how people construct their social worlds; …” use symbols to make sense of their own environments” [ CITATION lis \l 1033 ]. This specific paradigm does not apply to my internship/workplace. I was unable to find a common ground with it and the people I work with so I will not be discussing it further.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
