Days of Wine and Roses 2 PART 1. Joe Clay is a public relations specialist whose job it seems is to find ladies for his boss, associates and their clients when a party is being thrown. He comes across as a misogynistic man with little or no respect for women. His parents are in show business, so I imagine he comes from a rather affluent background. He dresses very well and has an entitlement about him that says he usually gets what he wants and has a hard time hearing the word no. Joe isn’t happy with his current job; he feels like a pimp having to acquire women for parties. He explains in the movie that he was hoping to have a job with more class because he feels as though his parents don’t have any, being on stage and all and he wants to be better than them. His drinking, albeit in the first part of the film seems minimal, is obviously his way of relieving stress and dealing with his dislike for his job. Joe is a people pleaser, always trying to get approval from either his friends, superiors or coworkers and this doesn’t change when it comes to him vying for Kirsten’s (the female lead) attention. He is extremely put off by her initial rejection of him going so far as to insult and degrade her in a public, but eventually wins her over and they go out to dinner that evening. He is very smitten with her but doesn’t understand why she doesn’t like to drink. Kirsten has explained that she has never had a drink, not even a drop and claims she doesn’t like the taste of it. Joe doesn’t like drinking alone and seems to think that the only way they can enjoy themselves is if they both have a drink. He finds out she loves chocolate and orders her a drink that is flavored with brandy and crème de cocoa. Kristen is reluctant at first but tries it and finds she really likes it. Joe wants Kristen to like him going so far as to even give up a work account that makes him feel the most uncomfortable in order to impress her. I don’t think he feels paranoid at any

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
