Chris Nolop 8 Dec. 2007 English: 2 Words: 1,458 Casino : A Film to Stand the Test of Time Money, betrayal, mobsters, and violence are probably the first things that come to mind when thinking of Martin Scorsese’s 1995 film, Casino . These aspects of the film are just a few of the elements that contribute to the films epic nature. There are several reasons why people will be talking about Casino many years from now. Overall, its label as a classic Scorsese film, epic tale, dynamic and evolving characters, and uniquely shocking scenes allow it to be one of the few films that will definitely be worth noting far into the future of filmmaking. Casino is a classic that will be engraved in the minds of viewers no matter when or where they see it, and most certainly has and will stand the test of time. To begin with, Casino, Martin Scorsese’s 24 th film, was released well over a decade ago, and is still more appreciated than ever as one of Scorsese’s classic mobster films. With Scorsese being one of the most revolutionary and influential directors in the history of film, whenever his films are talked about, Casino is high on the list of some of his greatest works. His films will be studied as landmarks in American cinema for countless years to come, and with it, Casino will be always be analyzed also, as it encompasses, exemplifies, and embodies some of his most excellent filmmaking techniques. Even if the film were lacking some of the elements required to allow it to last as note-worthy film for many years, simply the importance of the film being labeled as a Martin Scorsese picture plays a huge part in its future as a classic film.
