IT488 C# it488-aka-scrum-lords 157 messages After 13-Mar-19 12:00 AM Tanner 13-Mar-19 09:05 AM Committed a change on Form3.cs (registration form). I believe I got the insert to SQL coded correctly now however I'll want you guys to test it out when you can. I can't test it here when at work cause I'm getting some permissions errors when I try to run it which I don't think I can get around. The only thing you'll have to alter when testing is the SqlConnection string so that it reflects your data source=server\sqlinstance let me know if you have any questions. But I believe we can mark that one off the list now. Also Dillon, I don't see where you clarify the table you're inserting into for Form2.cs in the AddToDB click event. I think that might be why I'm getting the "eat a code" lol UnsuspectedHero 13-Mar-19 09:42 AM Well If I remember correctly that error was just supposed to mean you didn't connect to the db I'll look at it tonight. Tanner 13-Mar-19 10:46 AM I think that error is based on this logic evaluating to false: (!isNum input < 10 input > 2000). could be wrong though. Again, noob speaking here Tanner 13-Mar-19 10:56 AM

btw, was able to confirm the reg form is connecting to the database and storing values given by the user now. Just had to make a tiny tweak to it to make it work. Using best practice as well by passing parameters to the DB as opposed to plain values. Ready for testing Tanner 13-Mar-19 11:13 AM got fancy and connected form1 to the database. So now once you create a log in on the reg form, you can sign in with those credentials on the login screen. We're coming together gents! Needs a bit of ironing out still, but the main functionality is working. Committing my form1.cs changes UnsuspectedHero 13-Mar-19 11:27 AM Did we add the function to assign a userkey to each username Tanner 13-Mar-19 11:28 AM yessir. You actually did that by setting userkey column to the Identity Column in SQL SQL assigns each entry dynamically now in the order in which users are entered into the table UnsuspectedHero 13-Mar-19 11:29 AM I couldn't remember if I did or not and I have no way to look at it unless I'm at home Tanner 13-Mar-19 11:30 AM quick side note, I don't see that caloriekey is set as the identity column on the calories table though. Just a future note

UnsuspectedHero 13-Mar-19 11:30 AM You can set it as such. I made that db in no joke like 3 minutes lol. Tanner 13-Mar-19 11:31 AM okay I can update it real quick. I have sql open now actually UnsuspectedHero 13-Mar-19 11:32 AM So the registration form adds to the db, the login form accesses db and checks username and pass accordingly. Does the login form direct you to the main form? And the main form just isn't inserting into the db currently? Tanner 13-Mar-19 11:33 AM correct yes to the first question UnsuspectedHero 13-Mar-19 11:33 AM Ok sweet. I'll look at main form when my kids head to bed tonight. Make sure you push everything that way I can get the whole project updated.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
