Last Name 1 First and Last Name Professor Class November 8, 2019 Depression in Animals Humans have used animals for various purposes for many years. While there exists a close relationship between humans and their pets, the same cannot be said of non-pet domestic animals. There are records of humans abusing their pets, as well. Depression, a common feature in humans, has been found to exist in animals as well. While in humans, the cause of depression is varied, depression in animals is primarily caused by humans. Humans derive their relationship with animals from the essence of control or power. History proves that the relationship between humans and animals has been dualistic, i.e., they are both independent and related. The speaker asserts that human control over animals emanated from the assumption that these animals did not possess a soul. Many people have argued that humans have the power to rule over animals because, inherently, humans have a better functioning brain than animals. The existence of humans has been seen as a disturbance to life.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
