Last Name 1 First and Last Name Professor Class November 8, 2019 Performance Poetry The basic structure of a poem is that it is composed of stanzas and lines. These lines and verses are written in a manner that develops a rhythm to express the ideas and feeling of the poet. Dramatization can be a crucial aspect of the audience's understanding and interpretation of a poem and its message. The performer of poetry will inevitably make extensive use of body language in the course of their performance. This may come in the form of gestures, facial expressions, tone, and the entire body language in general (Harrison). Performance of a poem has a significant impact on my understanding of a poem. The first thing to note is that no one has ever absolutely mastered the meaning of a particular poem. With each reading and each live performance you witness, one can understand or identify new elements in a poem. When I sit through a performance of a poem, I gain insights into subtle details such as tone that are hard to discern from a text. A performance, as a result, brings to life
