1. briefly describe one similarity between the carbon cycle and energy flow. One similarity between the carbon cycle and energy flow is that both energy and carbon enter an ecosystem through the process of photosynthesis. The photosynthesis is done through producers. Once photosynthesis is used by primary producers to capture either energy or carbon, it is passed on to the rest of the ecosystem by primary consumers ingesting primary producers, and so on. 2. Explain one reason why only about 10% of the energy in plant tissue can get transfered and stored in an herbivore's tissue. One reason as to why only about 10% of the energy in plant tissue can get transferred and stored in a herbivore’s tissue is that a large amount of energy is used by the plant for its metabolism. This energy can not be passed on to the herbivore, which is largely responsible for the low percentage of energy transferred to the herbivore. 3. Competition between species can lead to conditions of competitive exclusion or resource
