TEACHING PLAN 2 The victim is a 12 year old girl living with her mum and a step dad. She is being physically abused by both her parents and more so sexually by her step dad. Despite the fact that she tells her mum about the dad, her mum does not believe and she feel her daughter is making up. It resulted into her mum beating her thus, inflicting pain. TEACHING PLAN 3 Daughter Issues at a Glance Background Information Currently, the mother has no knowledge that they are subjecting her twelve-year-old girl to child abuse. Other than the sexual abuse encouraged by the step dad, the mother also subjects the little girl to physical abuse by beating her up for making ‘false’ accusations. Ideally, if the mother was aware of the signs and symptoms or the behavioural changes among sexually abused children, she would have best determined the credibility of the information her daughter gave her concerning her step-father. Similarly, it is also necessary for the young girl to have information on self-defence from sexual abuse as well as how to care for the injuries she sustains from her mother’s beatings. Hence, the significance of this teaching plan. The teaching plan will be instrumental in assisting the girl manage her struggles with the sustained pain which results from her mother’s lack of knowledge on child abuse. She currently suffers from her step-father’s sexual abuse as well as the beatings from her mother for ‘making up’ stories. She also needs to be informed of the safety measures to help her keep safe from her dangerous step-father. The girl’s mother should also have an understanding of the behavior changes on her daughter following sexual abuse to help promote the girl’s Mother physically abuses the child Voice of the child not heard Child sexually abused by the step-father

Nursing Diagnosis Domestic physical and sexual child abuse and neglect Long-term Goal The young girl will have an adequate understanding of child abuse enough to enable her stay safe and care for the sustained injuries before it gets worse. Such knowledge will also help her sensitize other girls who might be in the same situation. The sexual and physical abuse on the girl will stop following the attained sensitization on child abuse. Intermediate Goal The victim will be in a position to mention as many safety precautions and methods of caring for sustained injuries as possible by the end of the teaching.
