MANAGEMENT 2 Importance of Decision for Managers Decision making is one of the main determinants of whether an organization shall survive in the contemporary market characterized as dynamic and highly competitive. However, managers have the power to steer an organization through these challenges through a strong decision-making skill set. Despite the challenges, managers have to navigate through to have a decision with a positive impact on the organization. Decision-making process in any organizations is domiciled into a three-level structure of management. They include operational, managerial, and strategic level. Each level has a unique focus and requirements. Operation level of management deals with the daily operations of an organization. At this level, managers make structured and routine decisions which target attaining operational goals. Decisions cover shorter time frame maybe a year. Internal organization information is used as a source of information for the decision-making process (Schwenk, 2011). Further to this, the decisions are in definite terms which are quantifiable. Managerial level deals with middle management. At this level, the manager makes tactical decisions which are short term in nature, mainly daily, monthly, or yearly. They are also associated with less uncertainty and risk. The main goal of their decision is to create performance standards in an organization to improve efficiency and effectiveness in an organization. The strategic level of management comprises senior managerial responsibilities. Among them includes making strategic decisions that have a long-term impact on an organization (Schwenk, 2011).
