DISASTER RECOVERY PLAN ANALYSIS 2 Disaster Recovery Plan Analysis Acme National Bank of America (ANBA) comprises various branches in different states. Every single branch of the bank has established its workstation which is also linked to the central data center in Chicago. However, each branch also has its individual servers and computer systems that are not linked to the central server. As a result, there were suggestions for development od a disaster recovery plan to avoid affecting the bank’s operations. Among the factors that were seen as a threat to the bank is terrorist attacks, computer virus, failure of hard drives, power outage, work stations malfunction, malfunctioning of software, fire, and national disasters such as hurricanes. The Main Objectives The main objective of establishing a disaster recovery plan was to curb any incident that would affect effective operation of the bank and its branches. It is based on three factors that is prevention, continuity, and recovery (Rapp, 2011). With regards to this, the recovery plan ensured that the bank’s assets are safeguarded and the essential information technology services will never be halted. The plan also seeks to ensure effectivity in the bank by defining action plans that seek to tackle the various potential disasters. The plan also prioritizes various functions that are critical to the bank hence ensuring they are not compromised in any way. The data recovery plan also seeks to identify an optional site that is appropriately equipped to ensure continuity and provision of essential information technology services, should there be a fault or compromise of the established facilities. The disaster recovery plan also identifies the essential personnel and their respective applications and services that they offer, hence necessitating easy mobilization when there is need. With regards to this, the plan also determines different individuals tasked with various roles in disaster recovery. All the objectives of the plan aim at
