Presentation Jessica Mays HUM200 1. Overview The first artifact I have chosen is the painting called "Gold Marilyn Monroe" by Andy Warhol. "Gold Marilyn Monroe" is a Pop Art installation created in 1962. It was painted with silkscreen ink and synthetic polymer paint on a canvas. It depicts Marilyn Monroe's face, brightly colored with neon paints on a gold background. It currently resides at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. This painting tells a story of an icon forced to appear to have it all, for the public, who eventually took her own life. My second choice is the poem "Because I Could Not Stop for Death" by Emily Dickinson. It was published in 1890 after Dickinson's death. The poem is about the author meeting "death" personified. She described death as a gentleman who arrived in a horse-drawn carriage taking her through the timeline of life before arriving in Heaven.Despite these being two different types of art, one being a painting and one being a poem, they tell a very real story about death and how it affects humans differently.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
