Employment Opportunity Analysis: In this section of your milestone, you will focus on the opportunities presented in the discipline area of interest to you. Compare the opportunity as instructed below: Salary to benefit ratio . If the salary is high but the benefit packages are high as well it’s not money earned. Commute/Gas . If the commute is far, calculating gas costs or public transportation if available. If the company allows telecommuting, factor in the lack of gas, wear and tear on a vehicle or public transportation funds Location : For the LA and SF jobs relocation would be the only option. The NY job offers telecommute. New York- Median rent for New York is $2,845 Los Angeles- Median rent for Los Angeles is $2100 San Francisco- Median rent for San Francisco is $3100 Salary: Marketing Graphic Designer $55,750 (Mean Annual) $36k per year offer. For the marketing graphic design job in Los Angeles, I factored in the following: $11,040 per year for health/dental insurance for a family. $25,200 per year in rent per year @ the median $2,100 price for LA. $12,000 per year in miscellaneous bills (e.g. car, power, water) Based on those figures alone, the $36k per year salary doesn’t even cover essentials. I would need a salary of $48,240 just to live bare minimum. I believe the mean from the BLS website of $55,750 is a reasonable salary. Concept Artist $86,650 (Mean Annual) $37k offer. For the concept artist job in San Francisco, I factored the following: $1,440 per year for health/dental insurance for a family. $37,200 per year in rent. $12,000 per year in miscellaneous bills. At the minimum, I would need to make a salary of $50,640. I think with the costs of relocation that I have not factored in, as well as having the funds for food and necessities a reasonable salary for this job would be $75k. Web Designer $74,110 (Mean Annual) $34,770 offer. For the web design job that is a remote access job, I factored the following:

$2,436 per year for health/dental insurance for a family. $16,000 per year for the mortgage I already have. $12,000 per year for miscellaneous bills. +$1,000 per year for computer allowance +$50 to $500 bonus per project (1 project a month, ½ @ $50 ½ @$500) +$3,000 for 6 projects @$500 +300 for 6 projects @$50 This leaves me with roughly $8,634. While this is the only job that has money left over, it still wouldn’t be enough to live comfortably. I would say $50k for this job would be a reasonable

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
