For this assignment, select either the Kroger letter or the Whole Foods letter and discuss the degree to which you believe the letter communicates the message that customer advocacy matters to the company. After reading both letters, it is my opinion that the Kroger letter was more effective in communicating the importance of customers. The Whole Food letter talked a lot about their plans to improve financially and how to increase profits. The Kroger letter talked about those as well, but also focused on how they are going to improve and that it starts with the customer. I noticed most of the talk about customers in the “Innovating to Grow”. In this section, the CEO mentions a new era of customer engagement that will hopefully increase the customer loyalty. Kroger is also working on being one of the top destination’s consumers go to when looking for affordable, organic, and natural foods. This ties into the selection and

The Kroger letter also mentions how they are giving back to the community and their sustainable practices for the benefit of the environment. I found this valuable for the shareholders to know because of consumer’s raised awareness of products and environment effects often traces back to why consumers have their unique purchasing habits. They are thinking more long term about their products and not just shopping for the best price anymore. Consumers are looking for quality, sustainability, processing steps that go into the product and how it effect their world they live in. In conclusion, I believe that the Kroger letter was more effective in expressing the importance of customer advocacy and how to continue it for the benefit of their company....
