The high cost of prescription medications in the U.S. Describe the Population Health concern you selected and the factors that contribute to it. Prescription drugs are high priced and many people cannot afford to fill their prescriptions. Affordable insurance programs, insurance coverage, resources available for prescriptions, and no cap on out of pocket drug costs. “Prescription drug spending per capita is far higher in the United States than in the nine other high-income countries considered,” ( Sarnak, Squires, Kuzmak, & Bishop, p. 2). Trumps agenda is said to seek to encourage innovation, promote better price competition, and address foreign free loading. During Obama’s administration, healthcare costs were always being argued.
