I chose Comedy in theater history. Satire is a comedy that ridicules the problems of society, such as; corruption in government, inequality, war as a solution to problems, injustice, and hypocrisy. Comedy of character is comedy that emphasizes on characterization instead of plot or lines. Farce is a genre of comedy that draws laughter from outrageous physical actions and chaotic situations. Its characters are two-dimensional stereotypes that are easily described in a word or two. Parody makes fun of a work or genre, including, a film, a song, a painting, a commercial, or a work the author believes is unjustifiably unsuccessful. The original concept of comedy began with Aristotle in ancient Greece. Since there is tragedy in a lot of theater plays in history, play writers began to incorporate different types of comedy into they’re plays to have people leave from watching their play lighthearted. There are many plays where comedy is often about situations in which trivial mistakes lead to hilarious consequences. Comedy has evolved into many forms that have endured through the
