VARK AnalysisVARK Analysis – Find your preferred learning styleThe descriptor VARK is translated into Visual, Aural/Auditory, Read/Write and Kinesthetic receptive modes which can assist an individual to find their preference in learning. In 1992 Neil Fleming and Mills developed the VARK learning system assessment tool. This 16-question tool provides an assessment that prompts the individual to choose between multiple answers in order to evaluate the preferred learning style (Fleming, 2018). Why is it important for an individual to understand their own learning style? To be more efficient, retain material quickly, achieve better test results, and ultimately be more successful, Different learners favors different methods of learning, such as some like visualization, while others choose to read the material and others like to learn hands one and touch things. VARK AnalysisThe four categories (Visual, Aural/Auditory, Read/Write and Kinesthetic) of VARK focuses on techniques to better understand the preference of learning. For visual preference, information illustration such as diagrams, maps, or images etc. can be used to present teaching material. Aural or Auditory preferences can be accomplished through speaking or hearing the information.
