Assessment 2 (17756)The Coffe Stop Short ReportThe Coffee Stop is a small sized corner café located just outside a metropolitan train station. Thecafé has been running for nearly four years, starting off as a take away coffee shop evolving intoa café where people can now sit and have a coffee, including a small cake or pastry on their wayto work. The majority of the customers who come past are corporate city workers, who usuallygrab a take away coffee whilst on their way to the office. Business is doing well and the café hasexperienced a steady growth in revenue per year. The busiest times for the business are betweenthe hours of 8-11am and 2pm-3pm Monday to Friday. Their most popular orders are theirsignature coffees which include The Short Max, Craving Caffeine, A Longer Shot and The X-Press. The way The Coffee Stop has grown is through word of mouth, a good quality product,having a prime city location and strong branding.The coffe stop could use a new system which is allowed the costumers order their coffe or menuitems before actually getting to the store. The costumers would use an ordering application bytheir smartphone. This means that when they arrive, their order is all ready to go eliminating theneed for them to make a payment exchange and wait around. And also, the new system wouldreduce the costumer complaints about wait time. The new system will also reduce the stress forthe staff and their job will be easier because they wouldn’t feel more pressure in the busy time.Keys to Success for the new system :The application will be simply designed. So, the costumers wouldn’t get confused to useit.The staff will be trained to use the new system to ensure the best preparation techniques.The quality of the product will be increased.Barriers and Challenges in using the new systemConfusing MenuWhen hungry customers want to order online, they don’t want to spend their time navigating acomplicated menu that doesn’t allow them to easily modify or add to their food selection. Forexample, online pizza ordering sites should have separate sections for the crust and all of itsoptions, like seasoning, thick or thin, stuffed, a section for the sauce, a section for the cheese, anda section for all of the other toppings.
