Udemadu 1 Obieze Udemadu R. Bueckendorf British Literature 11 January 2018 AOW Response: Border Wall I believe the wall that Donald Trump is attempting to make is useless, selfish and a misuse of government funds. The reason I say these things regarding the emerging idea that our president has had is because there are various different means of entering the United States and something as simple as a wall wouldn't alleviate those other ways for entering the country. This also shows how much of a bigot our president is by willing to let the government of the United States stay shut down because of an issue as idiotic as building a wall on the border to keep immigrants out. Many republican representatives have even proceeded to publicly express their thoughts against the wall because they are beginning to realize how unimportant the issue is.

Unformatted text preview: Representative John Katko, who supports the idea of stronger border security even stated, “I remain increasingly frustrated by the inaction of both sides of Congress on the issue,” he continues to state, “Still, a government shutdown is a costly and unnecessary maneuver that does not help resolve Congress’ failure to act.” This quote advocates for my opinion that the controversy around the wall is extremely unnecessary and, as of right now, is more detrimental to the country. Many corporations have not been able to operate due to the government shutdown and Trump continues to ignore these people in need as he continues to pursue his ignorant plans for a wall. The money currently being wasted on all of the controversy concerning the wall could be put to better uses such as education and healthcare....
