SENTINEL CITY 2 Needs Assessment Demographics Demographic information pertinent to the assessment of Sentinel City included for epidemiological investigation is the population and the economic status of the city. The demographic tool gives the total population of Sentinel city, 663,862, and the separate total population of the four neighborhoods. The demographic tool also gives numerical values of the median household income for the city, $49,091, and the median income for each of the four neighborhoods. The demographic information also discloses the percentage of non-insured members in each of the four neighborhoods (Health Learning Innovations, 2018). Nationhood Safety Assessment According to Health Learning Innovations (2018), these neighborhoods have different safety issues. Nightingale Square is the safest neighborhood scoring a safety index of 93 out of 100. The second safest neighborhood is Acer Tech Center with a safety index of 89. The third safest neighborhood is Casper Park District with a rating of 57. Furthermore, the least safe neighborhood is Industrial Heights, with a safety index of 42. Industrial Heights has many areas of neglect, such as old buildings with graffiti on them. There are abandoned cars on streets and stray animals roaming around. This section of town has the lowest median household income and the highest population of minority citizens. There is a need for shelter for the homeless population in this section of town. While viewing the Industrial height section of town, one could see prostitutes on the streets and loitering (Health Learning Innovations, 2018). Sentinel City has an increased gang-related crime rate. Health Learning Innovations (2018), recorded a violent crime rate of 311.1 per 100,000 citizens in Sentinel City. There is a 16 % of arrest record for controlled substances and a 17% battery arrest record. When interviewing some of the citizens of Sentinel City they admit to illegal drug use (Health Learning Innovations, 2018). Population Health Scavenger Hunt Utilizing the scavenger hunt tool revealed several community resources available to Sentinel City. The Park and Recreation Department offers several different educational programs: swimming lessons, nutrition courses, kids summer programs, gardening courses, after school programs, adult fitness courses, and city sports leagues. The park does have a problem with trespassers after park hours with 31% of park citations given for this violation (Health Learning Innovations, 2018). City Hall of Sentinel City has a Social Services Department that provides services to the citizens, including WIC and SNAP food assistance programs for eligible citizens. Included in the services of the Social Services Department are Adult and Child Protective Services that provide early education programs for the community. Another service of this department is healthcare assistance programs, Medicare, and Medicaid for eligible citizens. The Healthcare System-
