I was raised and strongly believe that animals were but on Earth so that they can support human life. I believe there is many reasons that animals should not have the same moral consideration as humans. Even though animals are intelligent, they are not as evolved as a human. Humans have used animals for nourishment for many of years; whether that be for their meat, milk, or warmth. Humans with lower cognitive skills should have an ethical consideration above animals. “As Descartes proposed, if we recognize humans as unique and all other animals as inferior, there is no obvious problem in treating other animals as we wish” (Mosser, 2013, Sec. 6.4). We use animals for many years now, to improve the human life, by testing products and medication to insure they are safe for humans.
