Making Your Custom Career Ladder 1. Go to careeronestop.org 2. Scroll to the bottom. Under “Our Sites” click on “Competency Model Clearinghouse” 3. Look at 2 “Industry Competency Models” you are interested in 4. Next look under “Tools” and click “Build a Career Ladder/Lattice” 5. This takes you to a login page. You need to register (“Are you a new user? Click here to register.”) Once you have registered, login. 6. This takes you to the “Build A Model” page 7. On the left, under “Think About,” select “View Sample Career Ladder/Lattices” 8. Look at 2 “Sample Career Ladder/Lattices” you are interested in.

Read the instructions & follow the directions CAREFULLY to build your own model. 12. DO NOT USE the back button on your browser or you will lose your work! 13. For TIERS 1, 2, 3, & 4 be sure to click the “Include All” box for Key Behaviors. You can also customize Tiers by adding competencies & key behaviors. 14.
