Behavioral Analyst Certification Board (BACB), provides codes of ethics for clinicians working the field, Element 4.0 states that behavioral analyst are responsible for behavioral change program including “conceptualization to implement and ultimately to discontinuation” (BACB, 2014). This element is further subdivided in to eleven part to further assist analysts understand ethics behind each intervention creation and implementation. There will be a time when behavioral analyst might need assistance from other professionals and Element 4.07a provides specific ethics for this. It states that if there are environmental barriers prevention implementation of a program behavioral analyst should recommend assistance from other professionals (Bailey, J., & Burchs, M. 2016). This was extremely important because behavioral analyst did not have experience in feeding therapy and client would really benefit from the feeding therapy. In this case my supervisor followed through with the ethic code Element 4.07a to put services on hold until client was consulted from another professional because client would not progress with the interventions created by the analyst without attending feeding clinic.
