ABSTRACT The purpose of this research is to study the factors affecting student’s performance in Business Statistic course. The questionnaire was selected as the premier data collection method and a sample of 100 students from Business Statistics course PET3033 in Faculty of Management and Economic (FPE), Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), were invited to complete the survey. Other than that, a multiple regression was conducted to estimates the effects of the teaching styles, English language and communication and assessment methods on academic performance of student towards Statistics. Based on the result, the implication for the academic performance can encourage the students to improve their performance in Business Statistics. For instance, English language & communication also important in understanding during lecture session and also help student to understand all of the instruction and explanation about the topics and question given. Furthermore, the assessment method can helps through presents successful assessment strategies. Next, it will provided useful information to FPE on how to obtain students data performance in Business Statistics and it give benefit to Liberian if public seek to refer the Business Statistic performance. Last but not least, the teaching style can guide the selection to the relevance method. For the limitation, we prepared 100 questionnaire to all students who is taking Business Statistic in UPSI that focus on small sample size instead of all students UPSI. In other hand, the area of research is limited which we choosing FPE and Business Statistic subject as our research. To conclude, assessment method is significantly predict the student’s academic performance in Business Statistic.

RESEARCH OBJECTIVE AND QUESTION The aim of this study is to investigate the potential effect in Business Statistic of three categories of factors found in conceptual framework that are namely teaching style, English language and communication and assessment methods among the FPE students at UPSI. We would like to observe among the student does the three factors affect their performance in Business Statistic. Few questions will be asked for those who had already taken the Business Statistic subject only. FRAMEWORK AND HYPOTHESIS Below is the conceptual framework that will be study in this research to gain the result of dependent variable that will be influence by the three factors of independent variable.
