Members of the queer and transgender communities have historically been oppressed, underrepresented, and devalued in society. They are growing populations with growing needs, but few resources. Often, they have been shunned, abused, and otherwise harmed by those around them. PTSD, depression, and anxiety are common issues within this culture. Members of these communities also tend to feel marginalized, especially by media, corporations, and industries such as retail and fashion. It’s important to consider these factors and other cultural aspects when working with this population. According to Loi and McDermott (2010), “Evaluators are responsible for ensuring that ethical issues specific to vulnerable populations are assessed and that the highest ethical standards are applied throughout the evaluation process.” Being sensitive to the needs, feelings, and experiences unique to people from this population is part of maintaining an ethical approach to care and evaluation.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
