Define and describe the principles of ethical leadership. Which two of the five covered in this chapter do you think are the most important? Why? (5 points) What are the challenges of virtual teams? How can leaders make virtual teams more effective? (5 points) The five principles of ethical leadership are respect, service, justice, honesty, and community. Ethical leaders who respect others means they are “giving credence to others’ ideas and confirming them as human beings” (Northouse, 346). When a leader shows respect to their followers they listen and are empathic to their followers and make their followers feel worthy. Ethical leaders who serve others put their followers’ welfare first and are often seen as a mentor, someone who empowers others, and are team building. Leaders who are concerned about fairness and the treatment of others equally are ethically just. Ethical leaders who are honest is more than just telling the truth but they are also open with others and are mindful of disclosing what is appropriate to the situations they’re in.
