Shelton 1 Ajaya Shelton AP Language and Composition Mrs. Kingston 9 May 2019 Life As A Photographer Ever since we were kids people would ask us “what do you want to be when you grow up?” and we would give a response based on something that truly interested us and reflected what we loved no matter how crazy or outlandish it may have seemed. As we are asked this question as we grow up the response changes, and eventually is focused on the amount of money one will make with that job. We make the decision to choose money over true happiness because we believe that money will bring us happiness. No amount of money can make a person live a happy life in a career that they dread going to every morning. That is why I am choosing a career in photography, because although the chances of becoming rich are not the highest, the real happiness will come from spending every day doing what I love and having the creative freedom that I desire while traveling, finding myself, learning about cultures and discovering parts of the world I can only dream of while taking photos as a professional as my career. The best evidence to argue why photography is the best career for me to follow is myself and my own experiences. I have switched many schools, not because I was a behavior problem or because I didn’t love the schools, because I loved my experiences at each one, but simply because I was bored with the them. A career in photography will allow me to travel, and although I will always be taking photos, I can change the type of photographs I take and my style, with complete creative freedom. This would be a career that I could never get bored with and I can live a life of excitement doing what I do best as a source of income. There are many photographers living a life they love because they get to travel and take photographs as a profession. Those who work through love and passion will live a life of happiness and growth in their career as stated by Jee, “This guy oozes passion - a passion derived from getting to live every day doing what he loves.” “There’s so many good times because I get to travel so much. There’s been a lot of good moments travelling around the world with my good pals – over the years I ended up becoming best friends with the surfers as well. So [my highlights are] basically travelling around the world having an awesome time.” I have always wanted my career to be something I loved, but I also wanted to be able to somehow help the world and my community through that career. In photography that is something that is very possible because through photographs you can bring awareness to certain topics and issues, and there is no limit to what those photographs can make the viewer feel or who it can inspire others to do and help, “I'm using my gift

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
