The Case of Beth In this case the focus is on a 6 ½ year old girl named Beth. Beth is a caucasian child who was adopted by couple, Tim and Julie. Beth s brother John was also adopted by them. The focus is on Beth because of her inappropriate behavior. Her birth father had been physically abusive to- wards Beth and her brother. Her inappropriate behavior includes uncontrollable rage, desire to harm others (animals and humans), and sexual behavior towards her brother. It is noted that Beth s level of consciousness are limited. Currently Beth is being separated from her parents and brother while she spends time in a group home. The group home is for children with attachment disorders. The goal of Beth being in this group home is building her sense of right and wrong. I believe that this is the right place for Beth. Beth needs to learn the difference of right and wrong and additionally needs to develop empathy. If she develops empathy she will feel guilty and it will haunt her for the way she treats
