According to the latest World Bank data, India's economy has been pushed to the seventh spot in GDP rankings in 2018 with the UK and France overtaking the country. India's GDP was $2.73 trillion while that of UK was $2.83 trillion and France was $2.77 trillion. India had surpassed France and then the UK in 2017 to become the fifth-largest economy. 2. The Jallianwala Bagh National Memorial (Amendment) Bill, 2019, which seeks to remove the Congress President as a trustee of Jallianwala Bagh Trust was passed by the Lok Sabha on Friday. Piloting the Bill, Culture Minister Prahlad Patel asserted that national memorials should be kept away from politics. The bill was passed by a voice vote amid the Congress walkout. 3. The GST collection in July cro ssed the ₹1 lakh crore threshold to reach ₹1.02 lakh crore, from ₹99,939 crore in June. The GST collection in July witnessed a 5.8% year-on- year rise, compared to ₹96,483 crore in July 2018. This is the third time the collections have crossed the ₹1 lakh c rore mark in the current fiscal. 4. NDTV journalist Ravish Kumar is among five people who have been honoured with the 2019 Ramon Magsaysay Award, which is considered the highest honour given to Asian individuals and organizations. Kumar won the award for "harnessing journalism to give voice to the voiceless". Thai human rights activist
