The scientists thought it was absurd. Einstein thought it was static 2. Why did Einstein develop the “cosmological constant”? Cause he thought the idea of the universe expanding was crazy so he developed the cosmilogical constant as a term in his general relatively theory that allowed for a static universe. 3. Which theory was the natural beginning of a Big Bang theory? Theory of relativity 4. Who showed that the universe was indeed expanding? Edwin hubble 5. How does our distance from galaxies relate to their speed at which they are moving away from us? Porportional to the distance. The more distant the galaxy the faster it os moving away. 6. What kind of Doppler Shift did Hubble observe in these distant galaxies?
