Dalton Elwood Mr. Budach 11 October 2019 How to Raise Your Credit Score Having a good credit score is a large key to being able to pay for the things you want in life when you are out on your own. Having a good credit score enables someone to be able to take out loans, open bank accounts, get credit cards, and much more. A poor credit score also can be a roadblock to renting an apartment, setting up utilities, and maybe even getting a job. That being said, it is very easy to lower your credit score in our society, and not many people understand the simple ways in which you can raise it. It is significantly easier to gain a good credit score in the first place than it is to recover a damaged one. There are many important ways in which to attempt to raise your credit score. In this instance, I am going to give 12 steps to take to attempt to boost your credit score as high as you possible can. The 12 steps are as such: review your credit score, set up payment reminders, pay

Unformatted text preview: more than once during a billing cycle, contact your creditors, apply for credit sparingly, don’t close unused credit card accounts, be careful paying off old debts, pay down “maxed out” cards first, diversify your accounts, quick loan shopping, see if you qualify for a 0% interest card, and consider a debt consolidation plan. Something very important for someone with bad credit and no real way to boost it is by using quick loan shopping. This method gives someone quick, small loans that, if they pay them off on time, will boost their credit and get the ball rolling again. There are also many other interesting methods to boost your credit score, ones that people in our society haven’t even heard of before. I will definitely use this information in the future if I even hit hard times and need ways to quickly boost my credit score....
