Blood Transfusion Case Study (10 points) M. S. is a 48-year-old female with a history of breast cancer and left mastectomy. The patient is currently being treated with chemotherapy and radiation. She presents to the ER complaining of dyspnea on exertion and profound fatigue. She states that it was getting progressively worse ever since stopping her erythropoietin injections several weeks ago and is now unable to get through her daily activities. The physical exam reveals the following: BP: 92/56 HR: 126 RR: 28 T: 97.4 SaO2 : 98% General: A&O, anxious Skin: Pale, cool, dry HEENT: Face symmetric, mucous membranes dry/ intact, no lymphadenopathy Respiratory: Respiration even and unlabored, Lung sounds equal bilaterally, no adventitious sounds. Large healed surgical scar to left thorax and axilla, pulse oximetry 91% Cardiovascular: S1, S2 auscultated, no JVD noted, +2/4 peripheral pulses, no clubbing noted, BLE cool to touch with trace edema GI: Abdomen non-tender, non-distended, Bowel sounds hypoactive, no rebound tenderness. No masses. Occasional nausea. States last bowel movement yesterday morning. C/O frequent constipation Neurologic:
