chemical chain reaction, which produces heat • For the first time it is possible to photograph the cold flames • An electronic computer analyzes combustion at all times • The systems to see inside the explosion chamber • Abnormal combustion forms The internal combustion engine with spark ignition transforms the thermal energy derived from the combustion of the operating fluid ( gasoline + air) into work, that is to say, in motive energy. The combustion of gasoline is preceded by the formation of the mixture of gasoline and air in the carburetor : the mixture introduced into the cylinder through the feeding system, is compressed during the upward stroke of the piston and, at the appropriate time, inflamed by the spark that jumps between the spark plug electrodes. Because of the consequent combustion, the volume of the mixture tends to increase rapidly, resulting in a strong pressure that makes the piston move.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
