This cartoon was created for the citizens of the United States to show how them how they have been ignoring recent events such as mass shootings, climate change, and kids in cages and living their lives comfortably instead. The cartoon is an advertisement for “Conscience-Canceling Headphones” sponsored by Fox News, a biased news station. These headphones are supposed to make people feel comfortable with their own lives while canceling out the wrongs happening around their country. The elephant is a symbol of the Republican Party, aka the people who are ignoring the issues going on in the country. Another example would be the use of headphones as the thing canceling the bad out, with the words “FOX” written on them. The media has significantly changed over time due to the evolution of technology. With different platforms such as computers, cellphones, and social media, the spreading of news has become faster and easier than ever. We also have access to news from across the globe thanks to this new technology instead of just our local news. This has heavily affected political communication because people are now able to see both sides and interpret their own opinions based off of that....
