Discovering Historical Debates: Do historians take different approaches to the same subject? Are the differences complimentary or in conflict? Do historians criticize each other in their work? To address these broad-stroke questions, all of which involve an understanding of how different authors interact, we need to have a concise idea of the approaches different authors take.
